What Is Pipe Relining?
Pipe relining is a no-dig way to repair a damaged sewer or stormwater pipe. Instead of digging up the yard to replace the whole pipe, we insert a resin liner into the existing pipe and cure it in place, creating a smooth new pipe inside the old one.
It’s the go-to fix for cracked pipes, root intrusion, collapsed sections and ageing earthenware or clay pipes, without the mess, time or cost of a full dig-up.

Older homes around Brighton East, Carnegie, McKinnon and Murrumbeena often have earthenware or cast iron pipes that crack, corrode or shift over time, letting tree roots in and causing blockages, leaks or slow drains. Pipe relining fixes this from the inside, using a resin liner that cures in place to form a new, jointless pipe, without digging up your garden, driveway or floors. It’s not the right fix for every situation. Badly collapsed or severely misaligned pipes may still need traditional replacement, so a CCTV inspection is the best way to find out what your pipe actually needs. Compliance sign-off is required for most drainage work in Victoria, and we handle this as part of the job.

Our Pipe Relining Process
- Inspect. We run a CCTV camera through the pipe first, so we can show you exactly where the damage is and why it’s happening, not just guess.
- Clean. High-pressure water jetting clears out roots, grease, rust and debris so the liner bonds properly to the pipe wall.
- Insert. A resin-saturated liner is fed into the pipe to the exact damaged section.
- Cure. The liner is expanded against the pipe wall and left to cure, forming a smooth, jointless pipe inside the old one, ready to use again the same day.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does pipe relining last?
A professionally installed liner typically lasts several decades, similar to a brand new pipe, provided the original pipe is a suitable candidate for relining.
Is pipe relining cheaper than digging up the pipe?
Usually, yes. Relining avoids the cost of excavation, landscaping and reinstating driveways or paths, so it’s often more cost-effective overall than a full dig-up and replace.
Can pipe relining fix tree root damage?
In most cases, yes. We clear the roots first, then reline the pipe to seal the joints and cracks that let roots in, so they are far less likely to return.
